Dr.Albert Watson
Dr. Watson received his doctorate in Counselor Education at the University of Michigan in 1983. He has consistently elected to use his expertise to work with underserved populations for over 20 years. Some of the groups with whom he has worked are college students with disabilities, chemically dependent residents of the inner-city, residents of state and federal prisons, and Appalachian persons relocated to urban areas. Dr. Watson frequently teaches courses on counseling theories, chemical dependency, community counseling, family counseling, and multicultural counseling. His research and clinical work parallel these interests. His recent publications included those on substance abuse among persons with disabilities, substance abuse among Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, workplace violence, and training culturally competent counselors.
